An Atmosphere of Divine Riffs
Moss hangs motionless from an old oak. Candles cast a weak light across the stage. Sage smoke and Watermelon Ice Elf Bar vape fill the air. The mood is set.
Begin the ritual.
Wolves in the Throne Room is meant to be listened to outside. Music that is devoted to nature is best experienced in nature. Under a vast southern sky, soaring melodies are given the space to decay organically.
Each song feels like a guided meditation shrieked over a sound bath. Ambient passages cleanse the space before and after. Birds chirping. Wind blowing through trees. Monotonous electronic tones wobble. Just as you trail off thinking about something stupid you said last year, they rip you back to reality. Riff. Blast beat. Repeat.
Their music is a sanctuary. A place I have found comfort in since the first time I heard Two Hunters. Like an aimless walk through a familiar park, there is always something new to discover – no matter how many times I experience it.
