Lords of War Metal
Warmetal feels like the end of the road for extreme music. Where do we take things from here? Obviously something will top it, eventually. Heavy Metal always finds a way to out do itself. Until the next wave of whatever hits, Death Worship have their combat boots planted firmly as the most extreme band in existence.
All you neck-bearded mouth-breathing keyboard warriors that want to hate on anything recorded after 1991 need to open your ears. The unrelenting brutality of Death Worship cannot be understated. The riffs, the drums, the sunglasses. All coming together to build upon the altar Blasphemy built.
They took the stage and what commenced was a fully depraived barbaric display of unrelenting devastation. Pick scrapes that sound like a rusty knife dragged across barbed wire. Nonstop. Pounding drums changing direction at a moments notice. Start to finish. A unified front of guttural supremacy. The noise was a siege upon all my senses. I had no choice but to surrender.
